How To Make Squash Casserole

This Southern Squash Casserole – oh man, where do I even begin? It’s the ultimate comfort food, the kind of dish that screams holidays and family gatherings. Growing up, it was the only way I’d touch squash.

We only had it on special occasions, like Thanksgiving or potlucks at church. But down South, this casserole’s practically a legend. Everyone knows it, everyone brings it to potlucks, and everyone loves it.

Can you blame them? It’s pure heaven – tender squash swimming in a creamy, cheesy sauce, all under a blanket of buttery, crunchy crackers. It’s the kind of dish that brings back warm memories.

The best part? It’s incredibly simple to throw together. Just sauté some fresh yellow squash and onions until they’re soft, whip up a cheesy, creamy sauce, and bam! You’ve got the base. Then it’s all about the topping – crushed buttery crackers drizzled with melted butter for that perfect golden crunch.

Pop it in the oven, let it bake until it’s bubbly and golden brown, and then get ready to feed a crowd. This Southern Squash Casserole is a guaranteed hit, perfect for bringing everyone together over a delicious, comforting meal.
