Easy apple crumble is my go-to dessert for apple season! Warm, comforting, and bursting with flavor, it’s a guaranteed crowd-pleaser. Imagine a bubbling dish filled with caramelized apples and a crumbly, buttery topping.

  • Total Time: 45 minutes
  • Yield: 8 1x

Ingredients

Scale

Crumble topping:

  • 1 cup flour
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar (light or dark)
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon
  • 8 tbsp melted butter

Filling:

  • 2 ½ lbs Granny Smith apples (peeled, cored, sliced – about 6-7 cups)
  • ½ cup sugar (granulated or brown)
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • 2 tbsp cornstarch (or flour)
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp cinnamon

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and grease an 8-inch baking dish.
  2. Make the crumble topping: In a bowl, whisk flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, and cinnamon. Stir in melted butter until crumbly.
  3. Prepare the filling: Combine apples, sugar, lemon juice, cornstarch, salt, and cinnamon in a large bowl. Pour into the baking dish.
  4. Sprinkle the crumble topping evenly over the apples.
  5. Bake for 35-45 minutes, or until bubbly and golden brown.
  6. Let cool for 15 minutes before serving. Enjoy with ice cream, if desired.
