- 1 small onion, diced

- ½ teaspoon thyme
- 3 cups milk
- ½ cup chicken broth
- 3 pounds potatoes, thinly sliced (â…›” thick)
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 2 cups cooked ham, diced
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13 inch pan.
- Sauté onion in butter until tender. Stir in thyme and flour, cook 1-2 minutes.
- Slowly whisk in milk, then chicken broth. Season with salt and pepper, bring to a boil for 1 minute.
- Layer potatoes, ham, and sauce in the pan, starting and ending with sauce.
- Bake covered for 50 minutes, then uncovered for 25-35 minutes or until potatoes are tender.
- Add cheese in the last 15 minutes of baking (optional).
- Cool slightly before serving. Enjoy!
