A Party Favorite with an Unexpected Aspect: The Knorr Spinach Dip Recipe, “Extra Special”
With party season fast approaching, I’m getting ready with all the delicious dips! I adore easy recipes that are sure to please a crowd (like my well-known Million Dollar Dip!), so sometimes I like revisiting my old standbys like this Knorr Spinach Dip.
Everybody has eaten the chilled, creamy spinach dip in a fluffy bread bowl surrounded by fresh veggies. It’s a party staple and, to be honest, people usually bring this when they offer to bring a dip.
Secret Ingredient Knorr Twist
Now, the original Knorr Spinach Dip, made with that handy packet of seasoning mix, has been a hit at gatherings for years. But over time, I’ve added some special touches to make it even better. And guess what? I’m finally sharing my secret ingredient!
The nutmeg gives this spinach dip its own “je ne sais quoi”. Capture it! You will understand after one taste, I promise.
Everything Connects to the Little Adjustments
This is definitely inspired by the original Knorr recipe; I’m not claiming it as my own creation. But with my tweaks, I believe this is the best spinach dip you’ve ever tasted.
Easy as It Gets: Contents and Suggestions
You may readily get the ingredients for this very simple meal:
- Sour Cream: A great way to lighten things up is using low-fat; normal is also great. The flavor won’t alter all that much.
- Mayo: Regular mayo gives excellent smoothness; for a lighter option, use low-fat or olive-oil based mayo.
- Never be afraid by the texture of water chestnuts! Finely chopped, they provide a pleasant crunch. I promise you they are worth including.
- Scallions provide a burst of green and a sharp, oniony taste. If scallions aren’t on hand, chopped chives will work.
- A lot easier to deal with than fresh spinach is frozen chopped spinach. Just pour it right in after draining and defrosting!
- Star of the show is Knorr Vegetable Recipe Mix!
- My little-used tool for improving flavor is nutmeg.
- An umami magic splash of Worcestershire sauce.
- Salt & pepper, obviously, to taste. Go easy; the Knorr mix is already delicious.
Pro Tips for a Perfect Dip
- Make Ahead: The dip is excellent cold, even after a few hours.
- Press the spinach dry with a new kitchen towel to squeeze off the moisture. Wet plunging is not pleasant!
- Start with a pound of baby spinach if you must use fresh. Steam it until wilted, then thoroughly squeeze it out.
Supplying and Maintaining
Amazingly easy to prepare! Everything should only be combined well in a dish and kept in the refrigerator until serving. Bread dish or not is totally up to you.
Stored in the refrigerator, this dip keeps for three to four days when sealed tightly. All the same, freezing is not advisable.
That’s it! A secret ingredient in my take on the classic Knorr Spinach Dip will up your party dip skills. Please to enjoy!
