Salmon Patties Recipe

Salutations to everybody. Salmon wins out handily! I like this fish, but it’s easy to get recipe rutted. Therein lies the value of these Air Fryer Salmon Patties. They are an excellent method to use up leftover salmon, or, in an emergency, tinned salmon.

What’s nicest? Less than fifteen minutes separate them! With these patties, the air fryer does wonders, crisping the exterior and properly cooking through. Flaked salmon, some panko breadcrumbs for binding, and a little magic from fresh dill and Old Bay flavor is the key to preventing them from coming apart.

Though they’d be fantastic on slider buns or in a rice bowl, I think they’re best served with a salad and a splash of lemon. Go on an adventure. Try them with some really simple to make remoulade sauce, which is just mayo, lemon juice, and capers.

Now, some methodical advice for preparing these patties:

  • Here your best buddies are panko and eggs. The salmon is kept together by them like glue.
  • Ten minutes of freezing the liquid also works well. On this one, believe me.
  • Don’t be afraid to add more panko if everything seems a touch moist!

You’ll need these things:

  • The two big eggs are what hold everything together.
  • Chop one quarter cup of onion. Though you might also use another sort, red onion works well.
  • Though chives will do in a pinch, fresh dill is preferable.
  • Mayo: Any type you want!
  • Dijon mustard, two tablespoons, for a little kick.
  • Classic Old Bay Seasoning, but paprika, salt, and garlic powder will work just as well if you don’t have it.
  • Salmon is up to you—fresh or canned! That’s one pound of fresh, skinless salmon or two 6-ounce cans.
  • Choose from regular or gluten-free Panko breadcrumbs.

Making these mouthwatering morsels:

  1. Dust off your air fryer! Either line the basket with parchment paper or lightly mist it with oil.
  2. Construct the fish concoction. Whisk together in a bowl the eggs, mustard, mayo, onion, dill, and Old Bay. Fold in the panko and salmon just thereafter. The crucial step is to freeze the mixture for ten minutes. The patties’ form will be maintained in part by this. Don’t worry if it freezes still a little moist; simply add additional spoonful of panko.
  3. Air fry season has here! Make six patties out of the mixture, then set them in the air fryer basket. For even cooking, turn them halfway through the 8–10 minute time at 400°F. And there it is. In record time, crispy, golden brown salmon patties.
  4. None at all? Not at all an issue See the oven directions in my Baked Salmon Cakes recipe.

Serving these beauties is the exciting part now!

  • Salads: For a full supper, heap them over romaine or mixed greens and top with avocado and cherry tomatoes.
  • Bowls of roasted vegetables and salmon patties over rice? Absolutely, do!
  • What are sliders, little salmon burgers? Unquestionably. For a snack of the highest order, sandwich them between potato rolls and top with remoulade sauce.
  • Main Course: Getting dressed up? Have these burgers with some garlic butter mushrooms, a quinoa salad with kale and cranberries, or parmesan asparagus fries.

Meal prep tip: Depending on how many patties you need, you can simply double or divide this recipe. Extras keep for up to three days in the refrigerator when kept in an airtight container. They’re delicious chilled over salads or warmed and filling in the microwave.

That’s all there is! In my view, these Air Fryer Salmon Patties are a winner since they are simple, tasty, and ideal for using up leftover salmon. Try these and report back to me your thoughts!

That’s where these Air Fryer Salmon Patties come in. They’re a fantastic way to use up leftover salmon, or even canned salmon if you’re in a pinch.

  • Total Time: 25 minutes
  • Yield: 3 1x

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/4 cup red onion, chopped
  • 1/4 cup dill, chopped
  • 2 tbsp mayonnaise (Sir Kensington’s recommended)
  • 2 tsp Dijon mustard
  • 1 tsp Old Bay seasoning
  • 12 oz cooked/canned wild salmon (flaked)
  • 1/2 cup panko breadcrumbs (plain or gluten-free)
  • Olive oil spray
  • Lemon wedges (for serving)

Instructions

  1. Prep your air fryer: Line the basket with parchment paper or spray with oil.
  2. Mix it up: In a bowl, whisk together eggs, onion, dill, mayo, mustard, and Old Bay. Add flaked salmon and panko, then mix well.
  3. Freeze for 10 minutes (helps them hold their shape). If the mixture seems wet, add more panko.
  4. Form and cook: Shape the mixture into 6 firm patties. Air fry them at 400°F for 8-10 minutes, flipping halfway through, until golden brown.
  5. Enjoy! Serve on a bed of greens, buns, or on their own with a squeeze of lemon.

Notes

For a fancy touch, whip up a remoulade sauce by mixing mayo, lemon juice, and capers (optional). Drizzle over the patties for extra flavor.
